2012 Pac 12 Basketball Tournament Schedule | PAC 10 Basketball | Forum

The 2012 Pac 12 Basketball Tournament is scheduled to occur from March 7^th through March 10^th, 2012 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. This is the first season that the conference will feature 12 teams instead of the 10 teams traditionally found under the PAC-10 conference. The following is the tentative 2012 PAC 12 Basketball Tournament Bracket along with the 2012 PAC 10 Basketball Tournament TV schedule to be filled in when announced. The times listed are those used by the PAC 10 for last year’s games and are subject to change based on league confirmation of the actual 12 team format being used this season. There is confirmation that there will no longer be a play-in game and is what this notional bracket is based on. The winner of the 2012 PAC 12 Tournament will receive an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

2012 PAC  12 Tournament Venue

The 2012 PAC 12 Tournament will be played at the Staples Center in Los Angeles again this season. There have been formal proposals made to the league to host the tournament at Seattle’s KeyArena, Salt Lake City’s EnergySolutions Arena, and other unmentioned locations. Since the tournament was restarted in 2002 (was previously held 1987-1990 at various locations), it has been held at the Staples Center which has been open in downtown Los Angeles since October 17^th, 1999. The arena is normally home to the L.A. Lakers and L.A. Clippers, The L.A. Kings (NHL), and L.A. Sparks (WNBA). Additionally, the Staples Center hosts more than 250 events over the course of the year and seats just over 19,000 in a basketball configuration.
