The 2012 Big 12 Basketball Tournament will be held at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri on March 7th through the 10^th, 2012. The Big 12 basketball tournament is scheduled at the conclusion of every season to declare the conference champion and award the Big 12′s automatic berth for the 2012 NCAA Tournament. This year, the top six seeds in the Big 12 regular season receive byes for the tournament with this being the final tournament for Texas A&M and the first with the league reduced to 10 teams from the departure of Nebraska and Colorado. The winner of the Big 12 basketball tournament will receive an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA basketball tournament. The specific times and television networks for the tournament schedule are based off of the 2011 Big 12 Tournament schedule until confirmed by the league.

2012 Big 12 Basketball Tournament Bracket Venue

2012 will mark the fourth time the Sprint Center has hosted the Big 12 Conference tournament. Based on contract agreements, all games of the 2012 Big 12 tournament schedule will be broadcast on either ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Full Court, ESPN3.com, or the Big 12 Network. The Sprint Center hosts more than 100 events a year that include both collegiate, professional, and amateur sporting events as well as concerts and family shows. As an added treat for college basketball fans, the venue is located next to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame and the College Basketball Experience. The Sprint Center has a maximum capacity of 18,000 for basketball games and is not quite five years old having opened on October 10th, 2007.
