2012 Southern Conference Basketball Tournament Schedule

The 2012 Southern Conference basketball tournament is scheduled from March 2nd to March 5th, 2012 in Asheville, North Carolina at the Asheville Civic Center and Kimmel Arena. The 2011 tournament was held in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The winner of the 2012 Southern conference basketball tournament will earn an automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA basketball tournament. The times for the games are tentative until confirmed by the league.

2012 Southern Conference Basketball Tournament Venue

This year’s Southern Conference basketball tournament is being held at the Asheville Civic Center and Kimmel Arena. The venue is normally the home of the UNC Asheville Bulldogs basketball and volleyball teams. The arena has a seating capacity of 3,400 and is part of the larger North Caroline Center for Health and Wellness that was completed this year. Tickets for the tournament at the venue went on sale in October. The Southern Conference will play the 2013 and 2014 tourneys at this site.
