The 2012 ACC Tournament will be held in the Philips Arena in Atlanta Georgia. This will be the sixth time that Atlanta has served as the host for the ACC Tournament with it being played at The Omni in 1983, 1985, and 1989, and in the Georgia Dome in 2001 and 2009. The 2001 ACC basketball tournament was the most-attended conference basketball tournament in NCAA history to date with a total of 182,525 fans attending all sessions. The 2012 ACC tournament will be held from March 8th-March 11th, 2012. The winner of the 2012 ACC tournament will receive the conference’s automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA basketball tournament.
2012 ACC Tournament Venue
The 2012 ACC Tournament is being held in Phillips Arena vice the Georgia Dome to ensure the league has a full stadium for all games. The arena serves as the regular home of the NBA, Atlanta Hawks and has a capacity of more than 18,000 for basketball. There are more than 2,800 club seats and 96 luxury boxes at the arena. The facility first opened on September 18th, 1999 and is located at One CNN Center – 13 South, Atlanta, GA 30303.
