There were some great games on the first day of the 2010 NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16 with #5 Butler upsetting #1 Syracuse and Kansas State surviving in double overtime against Xavier. The second day of Sweet 16 action sees Tennessee taking on Ohio State and Duke taking on Purdue. Many fans will be interested in seeing if Northern Iowa or St. Mary’s can carry on their Cinderella story in the 2010 NCAA tournament.
Game Updates:
Tennessee went into the half against Ohio State only down 3. The Vols have shown that they can play with Ohio State. It should be interesting to see if the Buckeyes lack of depth becomes a factor in the second half or not.
Baylor so far has just been smothering over St. Mary’s. I can’t believe that CBS won’t let me watch the Ohio State/ Tennessee game on my TV so off to watch the better game online.
Game Update 2:
Tennessee pulled off the upset. Evan Turner was effective until the very end of the game when he missed 1 3 to tie and then was blocked on a final 3 attempt to tie the game. The win marks the Vols first trip ever to the Elite 8 in college basketball.
